The Tennessee Code of Professional Responsibility provides that a lawyer who has been certified as a specialist in an area of practice by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization may state such. Likewise, lawyers who are not certified in an area of practice or whose area is not yet recognized for certification by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization must also state that they are not certified.
