David McDowell


David McDowell, a member of the firm, currently practices primarily in the area of civil litigation. David has successful experience representing clients in matters involving residential/commercial construction, professional liability, personal injury, insurance litigation, real estate litigation, consumer protection litigation, automobile dealership litigation, and commercial litigation.

David received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Furman University. He received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where he served as managing editor of and had his article published in the University of Memphis Law Review. While in law school, David received the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence in Copyright, Environmental Law, and Trial Advocacy. Additionally, he was the recipient of the Dean's Distinguished Service Award, ABA/BNA Award for Excellence in Intellectual Property Law, and the Sam A. Myar, Jr. Memorial Scholarship. Prior to joining the firm, David served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable David R. Farmer of the Tennessee Court of Appeals. David currently serves as the District 5 (Hamilton County) Representative for the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyer's Division. David also serves as a volunteer for United Way.
